Re: UE cannot unpack this nzb

Hi Alex,

These NZB posts are quite frequent.

To have the NZB files unpack one needs to add the .par2 extension to the smallest file, simply by renaming it.
From there you can simply invoke PAR2 renaming on the now renamed par2 file, repairing and then start unpacking.

Kind regards,

Glamding

Go to properties -> Save/Unpack -> Browse for folder dialog -> choose custom and disable Suggest new folder.

Re: UE Running on Ubuntu (Linux)

A little more expansion on one of the difficulties - if I attempt to download and save, the dialog pops up with the file tree at the default folder. That's fine, but if I want to save in a sub-directory and I add a folder name, the folder doesn't get created and UE saves the file in the default fol...

Feature request: restore default layout

Hi Alex,

I am really missing a feature that would be very handy.

To be able to reset the window layout (position, width and height) of the Workspace, Task manager and folder windows to their defaults, when UE is run for the first time.

Re: UE Running on Ubuntu (Linux)

I have added a text only server and subscribed to a text group.

With me, the text messages just display fine.

Re: UE Running on Ubuntu (Linux)

Larry,

Have you tried following WineHQ Wiki FAQ point 10.4.6 for the corrupted text?

Please let me know if that works.

Re: UE Running on Ubuntu (Linux)

Well, I don't use UE for text newsgroups. So I can't help you with that. Have you tried configuring Wine not to let the window manager handle the graphics things?

I mainly import NZB's with the auto option, so a folder gets created after the NZB name. This works for me.

Re: UE Running on Ubuntu (Linux)

I am using:

Debian Stretch 9.1
CrossOver 16.2.5
Bottle Win7 32bit
UE 5.0.3 32bit

Runs fine.

However, the UE 64bit version in a Win7 64bit Bottle ran fine the first time, but gives a Wine crash on subsequent runs.

Re: UE Running on Ubuntu (Linux)

Larry,

Are you using the 32bit executable of UE? I am trying crossover and the 64bit version just won't run.

However, UE 32bit runs just fine.

Re: UE Running on Ubuntu (Linux)

When I tried UE on Linux (Debian Jessie with 64bit Wine) the program crashed when detecting a rar set protected by a password, while importing a nzb file.

You seem to be running the latest version of Ubuntu, could you verify if this (crash password protected rar) is still happening?

Various things

Dear Alex, With 4.9.6 (64 bit) on Windows 10: In my setup clicking the button 'Delete whole history' doesn't delete Unrar Passwords. I would like to see an option not to count bandwidth at all. With Save/Unpack properties section Unrar I would like to see an option to derive name of folder after nzb.

Text groups/ retention/ article numbers

Hi Alex, I use 1 server for downloading binaries and 1 server for viewing text posts. I have set the binary groups to compact binary and the text groups to article number. But what retention should I set for these text groups? I want them to be in sync with my text server so they expire when they do...
