actually no need to use those optons at all. free related to memory consumption of the newsgroup but it is also done automatically. compact compacts newsgroup storage on the disk, but since the storage is effectively reused - no need to invoke that as well, you may invoke it once in several months ...

When I use save text of a text message a different message is saved. Not sure if it applies to a binary message with text. It may, but I have not tested this yet. The split window is open. I think my problem is I don't know when to choose all, selected or unselected. That part of the filters is entirely unclear to me!
