nzb creation from search results?
I searched "create nzb" and "nzb creation" and got some hits that hinted that maybe it would be implemented in the future, but I don't see a setting or menu command. If it exists please point me in the right direction. Thanks :) edit: I found an old post that tells how. Got it. :)

Re: Do 600+ day old files really exist?
I've been with Giganews several years. Very reliable. With Usenet Explorer you can definitely download many complete sets over a year old and they keep increasing the retention. It's over 600 days now. I think in the years I've had an account I can only remember them being down for a few hours. It's...

Re: default download folder?
Thanks alex. It seemed erratic because sometimes it did and sometimes it didn't, but that was just because if I did more than one download in a session I hadn't deleted the target. Now that I'm no longer confused I think it's easier just to let it auto name the subfolder. But the method you describe...

Re: default download folder?
Thanks for the replies. I see what was happening now. I was making a subfolder to the Downloads folder. But after removing the contents, I deleted the subfolder. When the dialog popped up, it didn't find the last folder because I deleted it. It reverts to Documents. Now I'll try just using Downloads...

default download folder?
I use C:\UsenetExplorer\Downloads as the root of my save folders. Seems like the folder select dialog used to remember that for Download&save attachments. Now it always wants to start with UserID\Documents. I must have accidentally changed a setting. Can you tell me where to fix it? It used to r...

Re: Doesn't connect after upgrade
I just put 2.9.1 back on to try it. Attempting to download headers I get no error in console. Just a red dot on the ng. When trying to download bodies through GN accelerator I get error 10061. If I put 2.9 back on it will just work. edit: just put 2.9 back to make sure. Download and save bodies work...

Giganews accelerator, localhost and IPv6 (v2.9.1)
I did the automatic update to 2.9.1 64 bit. After that I could get nothing to download. It's like it wasn't even connected. I put 2.9 back on and it started working again. I got the same result on the 32 bit side. Couldn't even manually download headers. I'm using Giganews Accelerator because it act...

Re: additional bandwidth display in 2.41 ??
No big deal but I'm curious since I saw in notes of v. 2.4 that compressed bandwidth as well as real would be displayed. After update the status bar display is the same when loading Giganews headers via GN Accelerator. Is this what is meant or is it something else? Just wondering is all. :) Based o...

avoid redownloading
hmmmmm I must have changed a setting because I don't check to delete bodies after download in case I mess up the files later, I can just save the bodies again instead of redownloading(then once I'm sure I'm done with those files I do Edit Bodies and delete all bodies.) The last 2 times I tried it, I...

You have just one HD in your box ? When not, create a shared partition on a drive that has only data, none of your OS systems. Robert The rule of thumb I was taught, one physical HD for executables, one for data, one for swap. Of course until recently it was a hassle to put more than 2 physical har...
