It is also possible that it may be related to heat and or airflow around the drive itself. On a couple of ocasions I've had problems like that where the drive was simply overheating and adding a fan blowing air over the drive solved the problems. Yes I have exsperienced wierd results with the sort function as well, mostly when I have had fairly large ques, 40000+ lines. However I have found that everything behaves itself if I force the sort to reset itself after I have added everything that I wanted. Just turn off the sort que by date and th...

First off I would check how many tasks you are allowing for DLs at a time. If for example each of servers 1-4 can support 2 threads each and you allow 10 DL tasks then servers 5 and beyond will always start up since there are free task slots. So in this example you could set body tasks to 8 and serv...

New Files downloading before old files?

Here is the basic situation .... First off I have the software set to DL by date so the oldest files will not wander off to often. I normaly do not have any priority set for any files. So they are all at the same level. If I just start one batch this works just fine, but often I will not finish with...

Can the downlad limit string "exceding dowload limit (boolean wildmat match)" support 2 or more strings? by default it is set to "download*limit" which worked on all the newsfeeds servers, but recently goliath-east has been giving a "error 502 (username) Daily limit exceded ...

Well it wasn't quite the one that I was looking for, but it did lead me in the right direction. Ended out that I needed to unclick the "exspand attachments box for a new window". Gee I wonder how many hundres of more little (and big) options I don't know are burried in there somewhere. Onc...

is there a way to disable the attachements window by default

In the older versions of newspro (3.62 and before I think but definately 3.5x and before) When you created a new mesage it came up with a blank window, and you clicked on the button in the corner to open the attachemtns section. Now whene...

limit on size of text posts?

I have been posting a FAQ to a group for awhile, but I seem to have fin into a problem. Whenever I past the FAQ as a text post into newspro now it seems to be to long to fit and it cuts off some of the end. Its not a problem at the moment since that is just the modifications, but before long it may ...
