yes password list might be handy

password list might be handy. for example i use program to download rapidshare files. It has an option to put passwords in a window. Then it looks in that window and tries the passwords. For unraring for example it is jdownloader, not really for usenet. and also HTAccess passwords, not sure what tha...

now i know

Now i know the reason: The slow headers download appears when SSL is checked with port 563. And then i see a yellow lock (so slib). When i change to port 119 without SSL i get the higher download speed. But it is the maximum download speed of the isp, and indeed the yellow lock is not there. So mayb...

at low downloadspeeds (i set the limit with the hardware router) i get a higher ratio: 5-10 of the headerdownloadspeed versus the maximum (it is however quite going up and down, so very changing in the time). And it looks to decrease in ratio at higher speeds. Anyway, the headerdownload is quite low...

it works!

:D I just put it to the test. I use SSL connection with tweaknews server (included free in the tweakdsl provider subscription). I header from several big groups and downloading a dvd at the same time. And the download speed is very much exceeding what was normally the maximum speed. Nice invention t...

one of the reasons i went back to xp is this kind of notifications.

I also had one program with this kind of problems. And there was no way to get rid of this kind of nonsense (fake security things).

So happy with xp again.

automatic unpack of sets that does not contain par2 file?

when i download a set that only contains rars and no par files, ue does not unpack the set. It remains in the task manager.

Would it be nice to let ue try once to unpack the set anyway (hoping that the set is complete).

Because now i have to click on the post in the task manager and select unpack.

could it be smart not to update automatically in certain situations?
For example when in one version something is set to automatic, and in the other version something is not automatic?

So first reading what is actually changed might be smart?

Josef, I am running windows xp. You could be right about that powering down of the external disc. Now i am testing something from Alex and see if that works ok. Will take some days maybe, because i test with posting with a big dvd. Certainly i will also test posting directly from a hard disc or so, ...

now i see it is better to push retry button during posting. I did not do that during this post. I see that some files are incomplete. This i tested with the search service of UE and by www.binsearch.info. In the post program, I don't see the errors anymore. (edit: now i see you gave me a pm) I could...

would it be something that if mishaps occur, the poster would automatically retry it?
