a little bug in nzb creation
I noticed this after a while with some non-English subject lines with diacritical letters. I often export headers from a search and send the nzb to a linux server that runs nzbget. nzbget gives an error such as this: /path/to/file.nzb:5: parser error : Input is not proper UTF-8, indicate encoding ! ...

subfolders contained in rar sometimes unraring improperly
I don't know what is causing this, but oftentimes when a rar contains subfolders inside of it, the unrar process does not put any files inside those subfolders. I think in these cases, UE extracts everything into the Unrar folder first, and then at the end creates the empty subfolder(s) inside the U...

pure negation / stop words search limitations
I am finding that some patterns cannot be searched for. I want to find all posts in a certain newsgroup (which has a lot of german posts) which don't include the word german, but ^"german" search failed Also, I get too many results when searching for some words, so I tried "searchword...

Newspro's definition of retention is not the same as is commonly defined, but rather deals with what range of days it will return headers for a given server or newsgroup. Example: 1-5 means it will only retrieve the last 5 days worth of headers. The actual retention of the articles is determined by ...

I don't think alt.binaries.nl indexes incompletes. If I do indexing, I'll probably use nget as a backend, and get headers from EN, and nget can determine which ones are complete, though I'd probably also display the incompletes, but marked as such. The thing I'm not liking about nzb being xml is tha...

NZB support added to bookmarklets
I added an option to output the data in correct nzb format, though you still will need to copy the data to a file. I noticed that quite a few (maybe all?) nzb files produced by alt.binaries.nl do not import correctly into NewsPro, because the subject lines do not end with a segment count (xx/xx). I ...

Did you try to change the Force Retention setting for that server? It's just a guess on my part, since I've never fiddled with it. It seems logical, however. Edit: According to Mike Stammer's Newspro help, page 3 , there are two things to check, both on the properties page. Newsgroups tab: Retention...
