Counting dowload amounts ?
I used to have a reasonable speed Internet connection, I moved out to a more "country" location and while beautiful and relaxing, my Internet speed is way down. For a while I'd hoped it would quickly improve, but that doesn't seem to be happening so now I'm probably over paying for my Giga...

Re: UE Running on Ubuntu (Linux)
Sorry, can you explain that a little more? Where did you change what to custom?

Help with filter and sets/collections
I've played with this and ended up loosing all my collections (happily had a back up from a couple days ago). I have a watch filter that is: "xyzzy&part01.rar" - I want to download just part one of this post. I assume that UE isn't looking inside the sets that these are in, and that's ...

Re: UE Running on Ubuntu (Linux)
For those of you with interest - I've upgraded from Ubuntu 17.04 to 17.10 and switched from using Crossover to PlayOnLinux to be the Wine front-end. I'm not sure that POL is better than Crossover, but its free and officially supported by Ubuntu. So far I've only noticed one slight difference - I hav...

Re: Display of Rar part not working
Well, sometimes "supposed to work" isn't quite good enough.
I installed Winrar in the same drive as UE so that UE can call that program. Works fine.
thanks!

Re: Display of Rar part not working
Okay, downloaded and saved a part, then from outside UE the program "File Roller" aka "Archive Manager" runs and does properly display the contents. Now, are you saying that somewhere within UE there's a setting to know to run winrar? Or does UE use normal file associations and r...

Re: Display of Rar part not working
If this is the case, I don't know how it had been working - this is on my Linux system that I don't have winrar installed on. There must be some equivalent, I'll see what happens outside of UE then.
Is this also true for unrar'ing downloaded parts?

Display of Rar part not working
I messed up something, don't know what. If I download part 1 of a multi-part rar file I can double click on it and that brings up a new window with a tiny dialog window picture and the name of the file. If I double click on that little picture, UE is supposed to run its internal rar and pop up a new...

Re: UE Running on Ubuntu (Linux)
Bummer. Well no, good for you, I assume then that you aren't using an nVidia based video card? I was hoping that maybe Alex could insert some form of "clear screen" in the code as its the image under the window that isn't getting cleared out completely by the new window. thanks for trying ...

Re: UE Running on Ubuntu (Linux)
Good find! But... didn't help - made all the text sort of washed out, but the problem of displaying a text message is still there. Very suspicious that the article does mention nVidia and that's what my system has, but I've tried it both with the proprietary drive and the generic. Think you could, y...

Re: UE Running on Ubuntu (Linux)
The whole Wine/CrossOver thing is handy, but not a guaranteed thing... I have a program - DVDFab that recently came out with a Liunx version (yay!) Oddly, it won't run if I'm using the proprietary nVidia driver for my video card, only if I use the generic driver. Another program I have in CrossOver ...

Re: UE Running on Ubuntu (Linux)
Well, 32 bit it is then.
Do you have problem with displaying a downloaded text message? (See screen shot way above)
Can you create a folder and download an article to it? The folder has to pre-exist for me, UE won't create it.

Re: UE Running on Ubuntu (Linux)
Well, there are so many variables. I'm using: Ubuntu 17.04 CrossOver 16.2.5 In CrossOver I'm using a WinXP bottle UsenetExplorer 5.0.3, 32-bit But I also ran UE as a 64-bit program in a Win7-64 bit bottle, it ran fine too. Previous to this "official" install I did a trial install of 64 bit...
