I can no longer access my news server via NewPro. I can access the same news server via Outlook Express News using the same username, password and server name.

I've deleted the server, added it back and set the username and PW multiple times. The problem presists. Any ideas, trace/debug mechanisms that might help. Obviously I'm not being authenticated.

Error 502 access denied via@stpaultel.com auth server

check the server name is the same (also i suppose you check with outlook and newspro from the same computer with a single internet connection).

also try to uncheck in properties->general, force server authentication, it is the only difference.

if it starts giving errors after exceeding some number of connections it might be the server way to limit it.
