Header Bodies
Hi, Since upgrading UE to the latest version, when i download headers and decide to double click on header of my choice to download the body so as to read the contents the header just goes down to the bottom pane and wont download justs keeps trying to connect but if i highlight any big files (say movie) no problems downloading.Any suggestions.TIA
when it tries to connect does it go to the error pane (question sign tab to the right of the articles tab it should turn red if something lands there) if so what error do you see there?
while it tries to connect, doing several attempts, on subsequent retries if you right click the header in the "articles" pane of the task manager and invoke "properties" what "last error" do you see there?

Hi Alex, when it tries to connect it goes into the task manager (bottom pane)with a little red (!) icon on the left.
Right clicking on the properties comes up with

ok after some private exchange it is the newsdemon server error, it appears the problem happens not in all newsgroups. the error is:
"failed to connect because affected party failed to respond after a period of time, system 10060"
probably the server goes into timeout because of their database corruption.
the absence of last error in properties, right now UE set last error only when it is done with the server, i.e. the error is non-recoverable (abort right away) or retries are exhausted, but it can be seen in console anyway, just with timeout and high number of retries set in this particular case it takes time until it exhausted all attempts (probably news server ungracefully closes the connection so the connection only closed after timeout).

Hi Alex, Just a note to add,Got no reply from newsdemon but remembered that a long time ago had a similar problem with the server, and i had to change the port from 119 to 8080 so this time i changed the port back to 119 from 8080 and bingo, everything started working on uswest.com. My guess is they must have closed port 8080 and failed to mention it to anyone ! Thought i would let ya know in case anyone else contacted you with the same problem.Oh BTW europe.newsdemon.is also working fine on 119.Thanks again for all your trouble mate.
