Bug or Design???

Post by jmbailey2000 »

Alex,

If I have a thread of 50 messages and I delete 1 message in the thread, UE deletes the whole thread. Is this by design and if so, why? Many times I wish to keep several messages in a thread but that same thread has a bunch of messages I don't want (i.e. "me too" follow-ups). Just curious.

Also, have you ever thought about implementing folders that you can move messages to so they can be saved permanently? I have a bunch of messages I'd like to keep indefinitely, but they currently have to remain in the newsgroup where they were downloaded from. Or am I missing something?

Thanks!

It's by design, UE supports three ways to delete a message, the default in the right click menu will delete the thread, if you look in the advanced sub menu you will see the other commands, and if you want you can define a hotkey to any of them.

I have defined alt-x to just delete one message.

I totally forgot you could remap shortcuts. When looking through the listings, I can't find anything that would indicate (in the menus or the shortcuts to remap) there is a "delete a single message". There is delete a body, but everything else appears to be delete message and threads. What item did you select for deleting just a a single message?

Thanks!

I have remapped Alt-x to Category:"Newsgroup view" Commands: "Delete headers" and it deletes only the current or marked header(s).

In the rightclick menu its Advanced->"Delete headers".
