Items not cleared from Import view after successful unrar

Post by RDC »

I'm using the latest version and with this version the items in my Import view aren't automatically deleted any more (after successful auto unrar).

I sometimes had that an item stayed there and had to clear it with Shift-Del, but now all downloaded collections stay visible and have to Shift-Del all of them.

I looked through the settings pages, and tried some changes, but nothing resolved my issue.

Any thoughts? Thanks for your time.

can you give me an example and maybe the screenshot of your save/unpack settings page?

par2 files should be cleared before unrar even starts, after the par2 set is verified.

rar files or any other saved files - headers should be deleted or marked read, whatever are the settings right after saving the attachment.

try to check what exactly is not deleted, properties->save/unpack, save you should see "delete headers" checked if you want the headers to disappear from the view. if nothing gets deleted it is most likely the cause.

by default for new installs headers are not deleted, but only marked read since for new / some users it may be a problem to understand what to do (check del in quick filter bar) if they want to redownload something, so if you are using a new database with default settings it is what happens, then just check "delete headers".

Thanks for your reply.

The 'delete headers' is checked already.

Here is an example:

Check "Delete bodies with no attachments".

By default the option is checked so noone noticed, it appears "Bypass database storage" option doesn't set the condition that attachments were saved.

Better keep the option checked, so all garbage will be deleted after save, mostly it is for troubleshooting when nothing saved so you can see what wasn't (but normally one doesn't want to see, e.g. if it is because of corruption par2 will repair it anyway). I'll fix that in the next release.

i've uploaded files if you redownload it now works with the box unchecked, in the code i added "subversion" to the version so i can change trivial things fast within the current release - if it is possible (when i start adding something larger i cannot publish updates until the work is finished). you should see 3.0.4a in the about box, i also need the distinction for error reports.

Redownloaded and reinstalled. But About still says 3.0.4. (64 bit).

Yep. Works now with the 'Delete bodies with no attachments' option unchecked.
