Deleted Headers Disappearing too fast

I'm having an issue with my deleted headers disappearing after the end of every session... Sometimes I'll find I need something I delete just a day ago, but when I click the show deleted headers button, nothing shows up! Where would I look in the settings to see why this feature isn't working the way it should?

Do you have purging enabled? If so, you can get those headers back by doing a rescan, then selecting show deleted.

Ok, I go to the Edit menu, and Enable purging Deleted Headers is grayed out... where to now?

Edit>Enable Purging is grayed out, or unchecked? Actually, I was thinking of going into Properties>Newsgroups and checking there if any group(s) had purging enabled, and specifically if the default was set to purge (I would suggest setting the default to "No", and then changing, if you want, on a per-newsgroup basis).

If I understand you correctly, you're referring to closing a newsgroup and then, upon re-opening, there are no deleted messages. That would suggest that purging deleted is enabled. If you disable purging, the deleted messages would stay as long as you have set your retention for the newsgroup. After that time, a rescan would get them back, also dependent on the setting for "Track after leaving groups for 'xx' days" (Properties>General).

Are you applying any filters that might be interferring?
