Count the Number of Aticles in Filter or Selection

Post by jsakhtar »

Is there a way for newspro to indicate the number of articles in the current filter set.

This came up as I was comparing retention on certain servers. I wanted to know how many unique articles there were on giganews vs. supernews.

So I made a filter that said, "Where server is just ***", but I couldn't find a way to count the result (within NewsPro). It would be nice to indicate this on the window title Like "alt.binaries [3242/123020] (A)" would be an example. I only care about the actual article count in the newspro database, so the numbers.

On the same vein, if I were to select a number of posts, I would like NewsPro to tell me how many I have selected. This would to help me count the number of posts in a multipart to check for completeness.

Thanks

Jon

It is at the top on the title bar. You can expand all threads and select all the articles to get the total number for whatever filter you have invoked.
