Please advertise Usenet Explorer!

Post by jd »

Ok,
this seems like the most unusual request from a customer and frankly it's none of my business, but for crying out loud: Please _sell_ your product better!

UE is, like NewsPro before, the best Usenet Leecher app out there. I wish you would take like one week off from programming and work on the marketing, so more people will buy it. In my opinion, only some things need to be fixed:

* An improved documentation - maybe online. With screenshots and step by step documentation. UE is fine for the advanced user, but the interface has so many options, a newbie is lost. Which brings them to the competition.

* Put some screenshots on the webpage

* Dump NewsPro. Frankly, I used it, but using UE doesn't want me to look back. It's much more advanced.

Advertising. I took five minutes and looked at the bigger sites that promote shareware and/or do advertising. Some programs cost a couple of bucks, but should be worth it.

I agree with the above, and would like to point out the documentation as the single most important part.

I think that just a simple mouse-over help (tool tip) would help a huge bundle.

A tutorial is under construction.

If you want a preview look at: http://ue-tutorial.zapto.org

By the way, tooltips available (just the name of the command should be enough. I for one don't want long story's popping up whenever I want to click a icon...)

I haven't spotted a tooltip yet in the properties panel.

Tooltips are everywhere today, so if you are annoyed by that, you do have a problem :).
