About 5 minutes ago we launched our International counterpart for Binaries4all.

We are very proud to host an Quickstart tutorial for Usenet Explorer, wich will allow even the biggest newbie to start downloading with Usenet Explorer.

We also host a forum, where any qeustion about usenet (binaries) will be very welcome. The dutch site has evolved to one of the biggest sites about usenet, and we hope to provide the same service for our international visitors.

Very nice, although I noticed a few spelling mishaps. For example you use 'voor' instead of 'for'. I hate being a nitpicker but I thought you'd probably like to know anyway as I remember you mentioned spelling in another thread.

However, I'd like to see filters explained as it most definitely will be one of the most wanted and used features of any news client. New users will not find it very easy to trawl through UE's filter interface so they'd find it incredibly useful to have something to guide them.

I also noticed here that you have '*5' under NewsLeecher but no explanation of what it means at the bottom.

All feedback will be very welcome Jozef, although probably best to keep that at the binaries4all.com forum (don't be shy to bring the first post

Also to keep Alex his forum clean for issues that do need his attention...

thanks for the tutorial.

i've added link from the ue home page, i can also host it on the ue website, there is a lot of spare bandwidth.

maybe to keep backup copy somewhere.

i'm still working on indexing, there were some unrelated distractions lately, but hopefully i'll finish it soon.

Thanks for the offer Alex, but we're fine for now.

We are running our own server on colocation, and all bandwidth is sponsered by the provider.

Might their ever be a problem you'll be the first to we will think of for hosting the UE-tutorials

which provider? news-service.com? the problem will be to host indexing, it would be good to find a provider who would sponsor it e.g. in exchange for free indexing service for their users. i have one candidate but it will be clear only when the thing is working (i cannot start now when it is not ready).

probably it would also make sense to add UE to the poster section as well, since the poster is free, well capable and not so complex to use if to explain the options.

No, its Eweka.

It's a dutch base ISP and they're running a payed server with medium retention (around 20+ days) for €7.95 a month.

They are currently running a free indexing service (not just for users, but for anybody) based on the "usenetsearch" code. There's also a RSS feed running.

They don't provide global acces to their network, but are running (mostly) a direct peering with other providers (which will be free).

So whether people can use their servers depends on whether they can reach them (a simple ping should tell them).

AOL/CompuServe don't want to peer (we'll they're part of Warner now

)

You could try to send them a message though...
