Hi Alex,
Why is it that when I subscribe to a new newsgroup and make it a search newsgroup I have to manually copy the newsgroup name when I want to do a XPAT search. Would it not be logically that it would already be there in the newsgrouplist?
With regards,
Ronald
Subscribe new newsgroup and XPAT search
yes for that there is button 'ng. list' (it doesn't do anything special, the same as opening newsgroup list), you press it it will open newsgroup list, then you copy newsgroups and paste them into the edit control instead of typing newsgroup names manually (also you can copy newsgroup names from the workspace i.e. subscribed newsgroups). copy is 'ctrl+c' shortcut or invoke "copy" from the context menu, paste 'ctrl+v' or from context menu, but i think you know it already
Alex,
If i press the button ng.list nothing happens.
But why should I select the newsgroup again in the firstplace. Would it not be logical if I subscribe to a newsgroup UE atleast should start looking in that newsgroup. And yes it would offcourse be quit nice to add more newsgroups. Or am I missing something.

did you download newsgroup list?
when you press the button it should appear as the current pane.
try to open the newsgroup list (from toolbar or the third pane of the workspace window), then if you open some other newsgroup window and press 'ng.list' it should switch to the window, but here i see it always open newsgroup list (but if you didn't download newsgroups it will be empty).
as to subscribed newsgroups you can select them and invoke 'copy', i wrote already.
XPAT is a server command, so there is no connection to your subscribed newsgroups, you can put there arbitrary newsgroups, UE just goes to the server and issues XPAT command on these newsgroups.

Ok, now I see what you mean. I already had the newgroup tab open so I did not notice anything different.
But maybe it is just me. I only work with search groups. So when I see a post that I want I subscribe to it and do a XPAT search. Now with every new newsgroup that is not already in my list I first have to add with the copy method the newgroup name. It would be much easier if UE already had that newsgroup in the list. Otherwise it would be silly to subscribe to it.
But as I said, maybe it is just me.
