The ability to directly download or open from the search service would be great rather than sending to import? Maybe it could be an option?

You can do this. You don't have to manually import first. Just hit Control-D (to download & save) or Alt-D (to download) and it will do it. Of course, UE will automatically import to the Import group first. This, I believe, *has* to be done as UE needs to establish local storage for those headers so it can work and interact with them. But at least you don't have to do it manually--UE does it automatically.

Does that answer your question?

Ok, got that piece. Just taking it to "Import" just means I have to clean up import once in a while. Also, I can't just double click and open a file. I have to import first then double click.

you can also use several import groups (with arbitrary names) to sort out the headers, just choose from the import group combo box in the search service bar.

the nature of search result views is transient, since one does usually many searches and uses only a handful of results.

maybe you could add an option (checkbox) wether to open the import folder or not, after importing something from the search (and / or nzb)

in principle yes, could be an option in properties->general, search service.

it is just to see that the operation succeeded (as a rule it will succeed of course), if you use default settings and "new" filter in the import folder you'll see what has just been imported and the search results view is a click away.

but indeed it makes some sense, e.g. when you mark articles for download it doesn't bring you the task manager.

when importing through nzb folder (directory) it doesn't open the import group.

also some simple indication of import success could be shown in the search results view.

i'll check that after finishing with the current planned work on the server, there is some release "space" before v1.2
