Automatic Backup of Import List

Post by RDC »

For the first time I had UE lock up on my pc. After killing it and restarting it, UE loaded a very old import list and therefor old (already downloaded) articles in the task manager. I keep UE running for days on end, so all my new imports where gone...

I looked in the Options but can't find a setting to automatically save the import list. Is there such a setting?

Thanks for your time.

do you mean download list?
you can use periodic save all.

what precedeed to lockup? did you click in certain moment while something else has been happening?
there was no heavy disk activity at the moment as well and processor usage was zero?

just in UE comparing to newspro I simplified things a lot and there is no much space for locking up.

Yes, it was the list with articles that still needed to be downloaded (that was on screen).

My "save all" value was empty, so I set it to 60 minutes now. Hope this will help in future.
I probably didn't set it before as I didn't know what it would save.
No information is given in your 'help notes', could you please give us some information on what it saves exactly?

About the lock up.
I run UE on a seperate pc and connect to that with VNC. When I did, it just showed UE locked up.
Other programs responded fine, no high or out of the ordinary CPU or memory usage at that time. The last thing that ran was QuickPar, but I run that regularly without any poblems, so I don't think that that was the preset for the lock up.

I want to stress that I don't find the lock up itself to be a big problem. I'm a realist and know no software (or OS) is perfect. So that wasn't the point I wanted to make. Anyway, in my opinion, UE is very stable compared to some of the competition I tried.

Thanks for directing me to the "Save all" option.
