Cannot download from Import window

UE v1.24
When I use the Search feature (I think that is Global search) I get a list of all the headers that concern the search subject with no problem, but when I highlight and click on Download and Save Attachments, the articles go to the Import window, but do not download or get checked for download. I've tried it about all the ways that are possible and cannot get anything to download from the import window. Even double click on an article will not download the attachment. I cannot even mark to download in the Import window. Neither with mouse or spacebar.

I've looked for some setting that needs to be reset, but don't find it.
I know this feature works on my other computer with no problems, but on this computer it does nothing.

The download and save works fine from regular open newsgroup windows.

I have reinstalled the latest UE version 1.24 with no success on this problem.

Should I delete the whole program folder and start over or is there a fix or Properties setting that I am missing??

probably you don't have servers attached to the import group, invoke advanced->attach all servers.

if your computer crashes sometimes so settings are lost also check properties->general->settings backup (read UE.txt).

DUH!! Hadn't even checked that. Attached servers and all is well.

the option is unchecked by default, if system lock-ups / sudden lost of power happen very rarely then reg.dat.old etc. can be used instead of settings backup (through manual rename as described in UE.txt).

That could have been it, this computer crashes a lot.
