Double Click for a 'Close' function.......

Please, Please, PLEASE, remove the double-click as a close function. Double-Click is an 'Open' function everywhere else.

It's driving me insane (r)

Actually thats not true.....
Firefox can be made to close tabs by double clicking them with numerous extensions.
Maxthon web browser closes tabs by double clicking them.
Directory opus (windows explorer replacement) closes tabs by double clicking them

and these are just the few programs i use..i'm betting there are many many more. Do your research before you complain.

and besides.....ok..lets remove the Double click closes a tab function..That means double clicking a tab does...what ?....Nothing....So if it does nothing...why would you be double clicking tabs anyway

How about adding a small red 'x' to the far right of each tab's text area that is a close option?

I use Avant browser as my web browser and it has that to close all the web tabs. Works really really well.

And so does FireFox and etc etc etc, but the double click thing to open the folder than double click again to close the tab is confusing my old burnt-out mind (or what's left of it).

don't doubleclick tabs

just many people asked me to add close tab on double click, if to add an option not to do that it would increase the number of options further.

I personally like the double click to close. I am unsure how that gets confusing myself.

No different than double clicking in the top if a window and having it minimize or maximize. My browser also closes tabs this way as well as the small X.

maybe to increase doubleclick speed in windows control panel->mouse->button->double click speed, then it is less likely clicking the same tab twice will be interpreted as doubleclick.

My double click is a function of pressing the 'scroll' button (centre button).

I simply will have to be more careful I guess. But my hands don't work as well now as they did back in my early 60's
