NZB handling

Post by hholland »

It appears that maybe UE is having a problem handling NZB list when some/or most of the post is not YET on the server(s). It tends to work it's self to death looking for things that aren't there YET. and then, etc etc etc :)

Maybe wiat a bit longer if the server(s) report the header is not available.

I always make the NZB's myself with NZB4U.

But then again, that's just one of the reason's I'm not in favour of posting NZB's of stuff that has not been posted yet.

To many things that can go wrong.

NZB with missing bodies

Post by sideshowtob »

Alex

Is there an option that can retry articled downloads after a certain period? This would allow me to import an NZB and then have UE keep trying to find missing articles as they are posted.

Thanks

Properties > Tasks > Retry failed article tasks every (x) min.

But I don't know if it works for NZB downloads.

Already tried it and it had no effect. I set it for one minute and watched my articles. Nothing happened. I then did a manual retry on the queued articles and they downloaded the new bodies.

Thanks for the reply.

Sorry to bump this Alex, but I wondered if you had any input on this issue.

I can't seem to find anyway to retry downloads of an imported NZB file.

try to uncheck "delete incomplete bodies" in properties->articles so if an article body has been downloaded and the rest is still missing on the server it won't delete bodies after save so there will be no more task.

for "retry" to work you need the article landed in the "errors" pane, if bodies are deleted after save the task is removed.

Back to the original topic. NZB's when double clicked simply bring up UE but it ask me where the DB is located and reminds me that you need to do a setup etc etc but does not handle the NZB.

Nuf said :)

I guess nobody uses them.....

I have been unable to get 'any' NZB to work at all, and yes I have WinXP.

This one worked fine (as expected), I guess I'll have to investigate what
is causing the failure of UE to realize it is already set up and doesn't require
me to tell it where the database is located each time..........

Drop this item. I'll find a way to work around whatever is causing my own problems......
