A newsgroup that I have participated in is going to be closed soon.
Is there any way for me to download all of the content from this newsgroup so that I will be able to reference it on my local machine after the group is closed?

How do I download the contents of a newsgroup?
Open the group, click the 'Expand threads' button on the toolbar (or File->Default toolbar), select all (CTRL+A) and press Space.
Probably the easiest way to keep everything is to select all after everything's downloaded and right-click->Mark->Flagged. Flagged articles aren't affected by retention settings - flagging is more like keep in this respect. The only time you can lose anything is if you accidentally pressed delete on an article.
It actually might be an idea if Alex could add a function, maybe called Protect (with a lock icon), to prevent accidental deletions of articles that are to be permanently kept.
