Scenario: I have a multipart message where 18 of 20 parts are available. It is marked with a icon where the bottom is green and the top is gray. I select it and press ctrl-d (download and save). UE chuggs away for a while and stops with the same icon, but a red question mark is over it. No file is saved. I am assuming that 18 of the parts have been downloaded.

How do I check to see how many parts have actually been downloaded to my computer? If some parts are here, how do I force a combine so that I get a file that can be fixe with par2s?
As for me, I can't seem to figure it out. For me, the partials do NOT save automatically. When I select downlaodn and save, the partials do not save. I have to right-click on the file icon in the frame below the files list, and select "save". This is the only way for me to "force" UE to save partials so that I can use par2.

In NP, there was a selelect called "find missing parts and save".

does the icon get the question sign and the failed downloads ends in the task manager article error pane? if you check the header properties (context menu) it will show you the error.

if it ends in the error pane UE won't save it (frequently there is nothing to saye since all parts failed). instead of the newspro find parts and save option then you can use just 'save attachments' (you can even leave the error in place so you can retry it later).

but if it is newsfeeds and the same problem (the error is 'no such article' and it works for article number groups) just contact them since it cannot be a problem with 'user's database entry' (or maybe it was supposed to be mere 'database entry'), it is a problem in their database index.
