NewsPro hangs (using 100% cpu) when I select File->switchdatabase. How do I fix this?
Blahblah
switching database
try to open the database directory you are switching to (more exactly its 'Data' subdirectory) in the windows explorer, the time should be about the same.
when the directory is large it takes time for the system to open it, especially if there are other processor time consuming tasks are running at the same time, newspro does nothing but checks status of several files there to see whether it is a newspro database.
i'm planning to move article files to a subdirectory, then the opening will be faster.
in short it should open it at any case after some time, if not try to check the drive file system (no need to scan for bad sectors).
