Can someone post a series of examples on how to use the new filter bar?

Specifically I'm looking for how to use the Dates/days field. For example how do I show only items that have been posted in the last 7 days? (Entering "<7d" didn't do it.)

I"m also confused why when I do a new scan of headers and turn on the "new" filter it never shows anything.

I ask for your patience in either explaining this or pointing me to where I can find this documented.

maybe put in something like : "1-7" or "7" ?

did you already look in the "help notes" for some examples?

you can also enter <7d maybe you forgot to press the enter key or 'Apply'.

it works exactly in the same way like in properties->newsgroups, retention, you can see also some example there in the properties retention combo box, except for > < which i added later and which means "<7" same as "1-7" and
">7" as "7-" or "7-..."
