"Save text" saves text of different message or no

When I use save text of a text message a different message is saved. Not sure if it applies to a binary message with text. It may, but I have not tested this yet.
The split window is open. I select the message in the upper portion of the window, select advanced > save text. I look where the message is supposed to be saved but see another message instead. I can do thus at least 5 times in a row.
Also, at times NO message is saved. It gets a little "flag" on it as if it's going into the queue but nothing happens.

do you mean saving from within the article view?
i checked there was a problem saving text from within the article view, i'm not sure it was the same through the save queue, maybe, if you don't observe the same problem with 'save source' it should be fixed in the next release.

I suppose it would help if I knew which "view" I was in at any given time.
For example as opposed to the former task manager there is no text to tell me which view I am in, just an icon. I rarely can see the hover text, if ever for some reason.
I opened the group I was in, it might have been a global group with bodies, a single group, or an import group. There was a split window and I selected the item from the top split.
Not sure if this helps.
I did do a save source on one file as well as a save text, and both had a truncated file name. The file name just used the posters ID. I hadn't seen that before.

if you clicked right mouse in a view the view has the focus (i'll think what to do here, the problem we have also the task manager current article view pane, but since it has its own title maybe to do it like in newspro).
does the problem still exist in v1.04 (wrong article or no text saved)?
what do you mean by truncated file name?
the file name is truncated because windows has restriction up to 255 characters or about this for full path, i don't remember i think ue truncates the file name to 200 characters.

I just tried it again in 1.04, and this one specific article saved with the name of the immediately previous saved article, but the contents were correct. interesting, this is repeatable.
As to truncation:
Instead of the subject name etc. it was just the name of the poster "poster [
post@p.com].txt" "poster [
post@p.com].src" etc.
By the way,
when the little popup says there is a new version, it just says it is available at, and the rest is blank. Plus you can't click on it to get to the download.

if you save source is it the same?
is it single or partial?
are you saving it from the article view or from newsgroup view?
if you start the program, open the view and save text is there the same problem (i mean maybe you saved text of one article, the you try to save the next and it create the subject from the previous one?)

same
single
don't know
ok, i restarted the program, opened a folder containing compact binary newsgroups, marked bodies, chose the single text message in the upper split, save text (and source) and i get the "short" file name.
I repeat this procedure on another text message in the same place, and i get the same file name but different contents, source as well.

can you download some group from news.microsoft.com and then to describe what do you mean step by step with reference to specific post.
just here i'm saving text and it saves it, the file name corresponds to the subject.

OK. sigh.
I subscribed to "microsoft.public.internetexplorer.general"
and downloaded message "Subject: Synchronize with ftp site ?"
saved text and source correctly with the group open and a split window.
now for the strange part.
went back to the odd message that won't save,
opened the actual group (it was posted to two groups) instead of the folder just in case that had something to do with it.
selected the message in the upper split, saved text, and the file saved with the subject of the previous correctly saved message, but with the posters name of the current message. contents of message are correct.
