Finding out what type a group is

Post by ALiSMoNiToS »

Hi again

I guess I will be a pain in the behind with questions while I am getting to grips with UE :)

Ok, obviously the newsgroup type (compact binary, msg-id etc.) is the most critical decision when a user subscribes to a newsgroup. Is there a way to see what type a newsgroup is *after* it has been added?

I believe, since this is so important, that it has to be visible in the UI (different icons, or at least a different color for the newsgroup icons etc.).

I tried going into the properties for a newsgroup, I looked around but I can't find how I can actually find out what type a newsgroup is.

Thanks.

Go to the properties dialog for a newsgroup. Look just to the left of the "reclaim purged headers" label and you will see the type.
