how do i get new newsgroups?

Easy. Go to the Workspace (Left side). On the bottom you can switch between Newsgroups/Servers - third pane is Newsgroup list. Right click on the server - voila.

Yes, I've gotten that far, but which do I choose? I don't have a "get new newsgroups" option or anything like that. I see:

Get Newsgroup List
Rescan Newsgroup List

Which do I use?

Get newsgroup list...

If you know the name of the group, and know your server supports it, you can ommit this and create the group without getting/updating the list.
