Unable to download attachments (getting .zm9 files)

I seem to have a weird problem downloading attachments. Instead of the expected ZIP file I get a list .zm9 looking like this

file1 (2).zm9
file1 (3).zm9
file1 (4).zm9
file1 (5).zm9
file1 (6).zm9
file1 (7).zm9
file1 (8).zm9

Have I changed any settings anywhere that would do this?

Are you running ZoneAlarm?

Usually ZA changes the extension to .zl? but they might have changed something.

Hm, I was running CA's EZ Armor firewall, I tried disabling it, but I still get the same zm9 files....

From a quick search I found this.

EZ Firewall is basically Zone Alarm Pro under a different name.

In ZA, the option is under MailSafe. If you have an option for this in your firewall, try disabling it.

Rename the files:
From filexpt.zm9
To filexpt.zip
and unzip them as usually
