Loss of focus

In the latest version of UE I've noticed a change in the focus behavior. Normally when I double click on a file in UE it displays an icon where I can launch a viewer for the file. When I press the delete key to delete this file in UE the focus doesn't always return to the main list. Sometimes I have to manually click back in the main frame to restore focus.

do you mean focus is lost from the header list?
is it when the search results tab view is shown?
can you describe it in enough details so i could reproduce it and add to the to do list since for about a week i'll be analyzing and improving the server.

Yes, the focus is lost from the header list.
Sequence 1:
Focus is on the header list.
Double click on a JPG header
Built-in viewer displays file
Press delete key
Image and header are deleted
Focus is not on the header list. Arrow keys, Page Up/Down don't work until I click on the header list again.
Sequence 2:
Focus is on the header list.
Double click on a JPG header
File icon is displayed
Double click on icon.
Separate viewer is launched.
Close viewer. UE is now the active task.
Press delete key
Header is deleted
Focus is not on the header list. Arrow keys, Page Up/Down don't work until I click on the header list again.

There is the same problem with loss of focus when you delete headers with ctrl+del or ctrl+shift+del.
Also if you isolate a group of headers in the window with quick filter, and then download them all so the window is empty (Saving Attachments>Delete headers checked), and then press "Clear" to return to headers in group, it jumps to top of the group instead of to the previous or next header.

I've noticed that with the new collections if you select a bunch of files and the last selected file is a collection "placeholder", focus will be lost from the headers view after pressing CTRL-DEL and you have to click with the mouse to get it back.
If you select a bunch of files and then hold CTRL and click on a non collection "placeholder" file to deselect it and click again to select it the focus will stay in the headers view after pressing CTRL-DEL

yes if you delete the focused item there will be no focused item.
actually i was waiting until clarifying question with collections since i didn't know it could fit so smoothly.
so now i'll think about adding better focus when it is important.
