Request: verify repair, unpack

Hello Alex,

is it possible in the future that UE will be able to verify the downloaded files and in case of damaged files repair the movie and then do an unpack to eg a subdirectory within the directory where the files are downloaded?
I think there need to be a confguration setting for where the program can find Winrar.
The Par2 setting is already in the program.
Thanx

could indeed be practical.

would a combination with dldone for example be good?

dldone can do the things you want.

I know dldon can do that but it is not stable when using the scheduler for monitoring a directory.
I know there are other programs, but they have some problems. I know the developers are working a stable version, but most of them do not support directories with spaces, or filenames with spaces.

try to give me reference to all dedicated programs which do par recovery / unraring (email/private message also ok) i'll check them.

it seems it should be done in a separate program because file names are certain after save so no reason to add that to newsreader (also unraring and par check recovery are disk and processor intensive operations which take long time), maybe to implement it as some kind of totally freeware component, it is maybe a week to write (when i'm back).

I tried dlDone after reading this thread - I never heard of it before or maybe the name of it isn't self-explanatory enough to make me take notice. Maybe something like AutoPAR&RAR or something... I've been using it for mass extracting of all the DVDs I had and I've found it quite useful, especially the option to extract using the original directory names rather than the filenames which eliminates guesswork. It could use a bit of polish and a few options I'd like to see, though.

On the news client front, NewsRover has had inbuilt PAR/RAR support for some time now. More info on that here, however the program itself is slow and cumbersome and they have ridiculous charges for seemingly minor upgrades.

try rarslave

repairs extracts puts into subfolder then deleates the files when all done

That could work, but what I want is a scheduleder within the application
that does work.
I know the scheduler for dldon does not work very well, but then again I am not a programmer who can look at the and then solve the problem.
Maybe I can get a hold on the source code.
DLDone is a good program when every thing works wel.

Thanx

I know this progam and it looks ok, but it can't handle directories and files with spaces.

Maybe you are right, I have found a good one now which has great new features.
Program : Grappler

Maybe it's nice to have a look at sabnzbd : http://sourceforge.net/projects/sabnzbd

It takes a nzb, downloads the rarfiles, checks the par2 set and if necessary it downloads additional par2files, repairs, unpacks and deletes. Unfortunately it doesn't handle multiple servers very well and all settings and progress must be checked via a browser window. It also doesn't support getting headers of groups or using xpat.
It would be very nice if the par2checking, unrarring and deletion could be automated with Usenetexplorer.

I would say, just try grappler, works very well for me.
No problem at all (yet).
