Hi,

How can i save the research tabs in Search Service so that they are
available when Usenet Explorer opens?

All you can do is to perform a search and import the headers into an Import group. There is currently no way to save searches, as it were, to automate them. I've been thinking myself about requesting a feature to save favourite searches. The way it is at the moment, I will have to save my search keywords into a text file, or wherever, if the list grows too large to be manageable and I want to clear the history. Then, with a clear list, I could rerun my usual favourite searches by copying over the list I saved earlier. A convoluted method at best and the history will always grow with each extra search performed.

I would like to be able to run a preset list of searches but I don't think Alex would allow such a function as it may mean a hit on the search service server's performance.

as to search results persistence, i could think about it since the search server is absolutely stable so the search results are valid unless they expired on the server. from other side it is easy to get the search results again and after some time there might be new matches and the question is then whether it makes sense (you can just import the search results of interest into a dedicated import group to have them in full, what you see in the search service pane is only half - no message-ids).

as to scheduled searches right now it is not so feasible given our resources.
