"Search failed. This function is currently disabled for trial users."
Is this a new restriction? A temporary one? One to limit load during peak times, perhaps?
I'd be interested in any information about why I'm getting this error.
Search is currently disabled for trial users
since it is a separately running service (you can call it a commercial service) it is mostly intended for registered users. during peak times the service may be switched off for trial users partially or completely.
sometimes i get emails someone wants to try it in full and then i enable it for several days, also i may enable it after new releases or just like that especially when load is small, there are no certain rules.
the cause should be clear, the project took years of work, even if the server has been written within several months it heavily relies on UE code which took much longer to develop.
i wish it could be different, with me there must be a very good reason behind any restriction, in the end indirectly those are users, not me, who decide about such matters, what you see is only a reflection.

OK, I get it. I've no problem registering to get access to this killer feature, it really takes usenet news to a new level of functionality and is a terrific value-add for Usenet Explorer. I guess I had access to the search feature for one of the reasons you mention, so I was surprised when it unexpectedly stopped working rather than be surprised I had access to it at all.alex wrote:since it is a separately running service (you can call it a commercial service) it is mostly intended for registered users.

Absolutely clear; thanks for your work on UE and thanks for the search service.alex wrote:the cause should be clear, the project took years of work, even if the server has been written within several months it heavily relies on UE code which took much longer to develop.
