I use a pay server to download files through nzb.
When i subscribe to a newsgroup and download the headers i get all the headers. As the payserver has a retention for over 30 days, this take a lot of time.
Is it possible to download only (for example) the headers of the last 24 hours??

yes in properties->newsgroups you can set retention e.g. 1d or 24h which is the same.
but also you better set last headers as well (the same place, header range).
i just will explain to you some background if you don't know already.
news server cannot retrieve headers by retention, it only understands last headers or header range.
so if you set only retention there is no other way for UE but to read all headers and only in the next time (when older headers are known) to read only the rest within your retention.
in the past when downloading headers in the first time it didn't show headers beyond the retention range but since the operation takes too long i added an option enable by default to show all headers which are being downloaded although it takes even longer (properties->general->let all incoming headers through).
in short the best way if you know a newsgroup has traffic 100K a day you set "header range" for the newsgroup 100000 and retention to 24h if you like, then in the first time it will download last 100000 headers and subsequently as long as the server doesn't change the header range (as a rule it doesn't but if e.g. you may reset newsgroup or reset newsgroup header range in ue which both resets the header range) ue will keep/download only headers from 24h exactly (but set last headers high enough so it there will be no more new headers than the number between subsequent header downloads)
