what means "nothing to do" UE 20030", when I try to make a xpat search?

Is XPAT actually supported on the server you're using? XPAT is highly server-side intensive to run so many NSP's disable it and offer a web-based interface to search instead. If you know it's supported, check the status page or maybe try a different newsreader to double-check in case the NSP is having temporary problems.

Failing that, Alex will have to answer. I wish there was a list of codes and their meanings somewhere or the codes were exchanged for something meaningful.

P.S. Why not just use the built-in search service? It's much faster, as you must know.
