In the latest v1.97 where can I change the search service port setting if something will go wrong with the search? Should I run a prior version to do that?

no more port setting, now i can change the search service configuration myself and if all will be configured as planned i can even change the port on fly.

there is option properties->general->search service->reset configuration, it makes ue to download the configuration again, you can consider it as an alternative to changing the port, with the configuration i have in mind it will be just a panic button.
