Is it just me, or is in version 2.0 the Bandwidth limit not working anymore ?

no, it should work as before, unpack built on the top of older code without major changes in the latter, if you see something wrong try to detail what doesn't work exactly.

On previous versions, when I entered 800 then no more then 800 KB/s was used by UE.
Now it doesn't seem to matter what I enter, UE takes full bandwidth.
But if no one else sees this, then I will do some more testing.

i checked on a connection with speed about 3MB/sec it stabilizes to around 800KB after several seconds, if you set bandwidth limit in properties->tasks->download bandwidth or set pause bandwidth and press the pause button.
it is if you draw the readings from UE itself (status bar or system tray icon tooltip).

Alex,
I installed UE 2.0 on another machine, and there it works like it should.
Must be something strange on my other system then...
Or could this be something Service Pack 3 does ?
Anyone with XP sp3 who could give this a try ?

i have here a semron 3000 computer where everyone can install anything they want, so i installed sp3 there, i don't see any problem with the bandwidth limiter.
try to check it again it may take 5 to 10 seconds for the bandwidth to stabilize around the bandwidth limit value.
what is the speed of your connection, is it the same connection as on the other computer?

Alex thanks for all the tips you gave me.
I finally discovered that for some reason scheduling got enabled after the upgrade to version 2.0 which apperently overrides the bandwidth setting on the Taskspage.
I have no clue to how it got enabled, never used the scheduler, but I don't believe Alex enabled it on upgrading, so that stays a mistery.
But thanks again Alex for the hints and tips.

I'm pretty sure this is a stupid question, and the option is right there in front of my face, but I'm trying to figure out how to use the bandwidth limiter.
The main reason I ask is my roommate and I try to be cognizant of whether we're eating all the bandwidth. Sometimes, however, we get a little absent-minded, and will turn on the bandwidth limiter in our programs at each other's request.
What's the easiest way to set the bandwidth limit (I believe the settings are under Edit -> Properties -> Scheduler), and is there a button anywhere on the main window that allows me to turn the limiter on and off at will, as opposed to at a certain time?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time, and apologies for the wall of text.

Edit/Properties/ Tasks tab is where you'll find the off-schedule bandwidth settings. I too lose track of settings, especially those that seldom get reset.

Apologies for the delay in reply, but it worked like a champ.
Thanks, Swent.
