You can put a shortcut to UE in the "Autostart" folder in the Start menu, to have it start with Windows, and even to start minimized but UE seems to ignore the minimized setting.

In the EDIT menu -> Start minimized

i missed this thread, edit menu->start minimized appears to work ok also through shortcut from the windows start->programs->startup menu.
