Nested search variables

This structure does not appear to work for me.

{"Italian"&"Prog"}|pastaprog

What am I doing wrong? Is my { incorrect?

Results show 'pastaprog' but no headers with both "Italian" and "Prog"

This works for me using "(" and ")".
