I have just run into this problem. I too am downloading >100GB and it looks like the following is happening.

I am selecting a complete RAR file with all PAR's

The root PAR file is downloaded
All other PAR's are PENDING.
All RAR, R01 etc files are downloaded
A Varification of the RAR files happens
If they dont varify then I believe the PAR files will continue to download.

Except, there are many other groups of RAR's and PAR's, the RAR's of which always take priority over the PAR's.

So, the Repair and unRAR'ing processes get held up until all the RAR's inbetween the current position in the queue and their positions have to be downloaded 1st.

Not quite sure what a solution to this could be. Basically at the moment, I have to go find the PAR's in the Articles and move them to the top. This will force them to download next and so the Repair process and thus the unrar process can start.

It really feel that it shouldnt be that hard though.

do you mark par2 and rar files for download separatedly?

if, say, the queue is sorted by priority, if you mark them for download together they will be in the queue together as well and what you describe won't happen.

if the queue is sorted by date, unless there was a long time between posting rar and par2 files so you manage to mark for download something which was posted in between - the files will be near in the queue as well and again what you describe won't happen.

by the time the rar files downloaded related par2 files normally are at the top of the queue. maybe you can cause that by downloading something immediately but then you want something faster and those rar files with lower download priority would be waiting as well.
