Is there a way to make UE the default newsreader in Internet Explorer?

I set the "default newsreader" option in UE, but UE does not show up in the Programs tab in IE. Only Outlook Express is listed.

i don't remember there is something else as well, at least the default newsreader means the program will be opened with parameters passed to the program command string for nntp:// and news:// URLs.

for windows vista i think UE will ask to run the program with admin permissions since otherwise it cannot access registry area where those settings are made.
