Broken movies

Post by vsokko »

Hello,
I dont know if its just me or if UE is assembling movies before they are totally downloaded. I have a whole bunch of "broken" movies with about 5-10 rar files that are not deleted. I dont know how to copy the names in the window to give an example. Please advise what I am doing wrong.
Thank you

as long as i remember UE will launch unrar if it is complete which means e.g. all rar parts listed in par2 files are exhausted and there are no pending parts. if par2 doesn't list all parts and the parts are misnamed in the subject it may launch unrar, but then unrar will indicate an error "next volume missing" so what you describe shouldn't take place at all.

so you need to give an example maybe pm to me an example location (search string and date), better the smallest post possible - i'll try to check it out, it might be broken post but if you see it regularly, it is popular and noone is complaining in the newsgroup maybe it is some kind of interference on your computer. also try to verify you see it consistently, i.e. if you clear the post in the unpack pane and redownload it again you get exactly the same result.

Try opening the RARs in WinRAR and clicking the Test button. I've seen several posts where people have created PARs for RAR sets that are broken to begin with.

If the RARs have a recovery record then sometimes they can be repaired through WinRAR and manually extracted.

Thanks for the reply. Movies have been redownloaded. Not sure if it was faulty NZB files from binsearch.net or what. NB may have needed to be rebooted or something and this just happened. I cant really pin point what happen. Thanks again.

UE doesn't rely on nzb files as the post integrity source, so it should be rather something in the post itself, if you remember the offending post - email or pm me so I could check it out, did it succeed on repeated redownload attempt (actually the picture should be the same if nothing else is in play like quickpar doing repair in parallel)?
