All filters lost after power outage

we had a power outage today which shut down my pc whilst UE was running.
Upon restart, UE loaded up OK, but all of my filters are gone.
Is there any way to recover them?

In the Usenet Explorer settings directory, there are backup copies in the flt.dat.* files.
Just copy one of the older ones to
flt.dat.
Of course close down UE first, if it's running.

Hi,
I looked at these files, but they all have the same date (a few hours difference) and are all empty

Those few hours were after the power outage, so you restarted UE several times?
Maybe you may try to recover deleted files.
UE keeps 3 or 4 prior run copies, it doesn't make use of them since it protects the file being saved with .bak file (but relying on windows to keep the directory in order which failed in your case). The copies are only for manual renaming.

Hi Alex,
its possible I restarted UE a few times yes, because I didn't know the filters were missing. I only noticed when watch lists weren't working as expected.
I did see a message from UE the first launch after the power cut stating it was "repairing bodies" (i think), so UE must have known something was wrong. I think it would be good for it to warn people to check the filter files and take a backup before UE overwrites them with blank.
Or perhaps never copy blank files over the .older files?

I've changed it v3.5 so it will rotate the files only if the file has changed (relevant only for filters - flt.dat and blacklist - bla.dat).
Working now on larger changes, but also making relevant corrections in the older code in parallel.
