Long time user but not well versed in all the features under the hood. Just upgraded to 4.7.

Looking for the quickest way of banning specific authors from searches and header downloads.
I see the ban list in options but don't see any easy way to add them to it (pull down menu or mouse).

Search shows a post on this years ago, asking for a right-click "ban author" feature add. Presume that wasn't added since I don't see that now.

It is right click -> Blacklist selected posters, in the newsgroup views.

Then you can edit the list (to remove previously blacklisted posters from the ban list) in properties.

I do most of my work from the Search view. Can the same feature be applied to that view?

I'll add similar handler to the search service view in the next version or earlier if any other changes in the code.
