Posting Problems

I am not a big Poster on Newsgroups but the few times I do they never show up and it makes me wonder if I am doing something wrong. It says Success when I post but when I download the new headers to see if it posted it never comes up..

Maybe it's a Newgroup thing, do post not list instantly where I can pull them up in the New Headers?

Any advice?

I believe that when it says success, that means the posting server has accepted the post. No, it does not show up instantly. Sometimes, there is a delay for it to show up on the posting server. It has to get propagated to other servers in its feed, so that can be even a longer delay.

Do you have a decent posting server?

Well I posted that this morning and now it's 8:00 at night and they are still not listed. Does it take this long?

I used Newsfeeds and I tried through Cache and Anonymous but neither one has shown up..

Could it be my Zone Alarm stopping it? Just Guessing, I have no clue actually..

No, it shouldn't take that long, but the success message is meaning the server accepted it, meaning it got past zone alarm. hmmm.. if you want, you can tell us what it is and we can look for it

I assume there are no errors on the task manager for posts.. The only trouble I have ever had has been because of my server.. and not NewsPro. I.e. the server receives the post but never propagates it to other servers, not even ones in its own server farm.

Is anyone having problems posting on Newsfeeds or experience the same problems as I have?

contact newsfeeds with details, maybe they can give you an explanation - a temporary server problem or something in the message wrongly matched their spam filters. if there was no error returned from the server and you saw running posting tasks in the task manager - all came through.
