Hi,

I'm a newby to NewsPro and had whole weekend to explore the newspro capabilities. I've let my system alone for a while, after I'd enabled a few save-filters.
Now, 1 day later, my freedisk-space is reduced with 3.8 GB, but apprently no files have been saved. After looking more closely into the matter I noticed I had about 3.8 GB of npr-files.
What should I do with these files? Are they containing the data?

Cheers,
Flugel

The situation is clear: You didn't save any files, but you downloaded about 3.8 GB of data from newsgroups.

As long as don't save them, the articles will stay stored as .NPR files wich are refferenced to by the NPro database.

After you save (and delete the body's) these NPR files are used to reconstruct the original message.

So, if you manually remove them, you've got a problem saving them later

if you didn't save attachments invoke 'save', when you marking for download you can use 'download&save'.

if you mean incompletes (you marked something for download, but server deleted it before you downloaded everything so newspro keeps it in case you'll have everything again again) - you can invoke partial menu->'delete bodies of partials with missing parts in all groups'. Partially downloaded multipart posts are not affected if all parts present (with or without bodies).

Also in edit menu->properties->general, saving attachments there are relevant settings regarding deleting bodies, but if you didn't change them bodies are deleted with headers after you save (but I remember it asks for default, there is a check box that can be unchecked to not to ask).

Ahhh they were incompletes. Too bad.

This raises another question though. What is the interval for the option "Delete such bodies automatically from time to time"?

Thanks for your help so far!
