I'm getting this when running the latest paid for version of the program. I am using multiple instances to seperate different sets of "big" newsgroups and have 4Gb RAM and plenty of HDD storage. Thing still crashes.

you need to check 'fixed database size', in properties->general, e.g. 450 / 150 MB hdr.dat / del.dat respectively, then newspro will be able to hold about 4M headers per instance.
possibly in the future the maximal number will be increased several times (3 times?), but there is a virtual memory limit for win32.
to limit the number of headers you can use 'last headers' or 'retention' the former is faster in the first time you change it, with retention in the first time newspro needs to scan everything to determine the header with the minimal article number satisfying the retention date, so it is more time consuming.
