Filter question

I'm attempting to get my "junk" filter situated. I've been able to eliminate all junk. To test that I did not remove anything that I wanted, I negated the filter and found a few falsely removed headers and was hoping someone could shed some light as to why. The filter is one line: Subject ...

NewsPro FAQ: When searching these forum is just too slow

Added "too many connections q/a" Here's a starter to a Q and A FAQ for newspro that will hopefully alleviate many of the common questions people ask. It's based on posts from these forums. I'll be editing it/adding to it as time permits. If anyone has any suggestions, tips, or problem reso...

for defragging, goto www.sysinternals.com and download their contig.exe tool. It's a command-line tool that can defrag just one directory/subdirectory etc. You can schedule it to run every day via an AT job (start -> run -> cmd and type AT.exe /? for usage) Newspro is essentially a giant database th...

You can export your server listing as well, but not sure if it will keep the bandwidth usage.

i think i posted this on another thread. But, aside from the connection issues they had recently, you can squeeze out 12 connections from usenetserver: news.usenetserver.com 63.223.5.247 - 4 connections nntp1.usenetserver.com 63.223.5.251 - 4 connections nntp2.usernetnserver.com 63.223.5.246 - 4 con...

Was searching the forums for some good filter examples and saw this. I'm not sure if I'm just not reading your steps 2 and 3 properly, but What I tried from your setup removed way more than intended. Here's a better example at least for me: Condition 1: Subject Contains: .nfo|.txt|.mp3|.par|.rar|.ex...

From your limited system description I'd say it's 90% hard drive throughput related (hard drive access constantly on) and 10% lack of RAM (constant hard drive access could be both page file and writing to the newspro database) I ...

splitting/manual joining attachments/posts?

Is there a way to split and manually rejoin an autojoined file? for instance, a 30 part attachment is missing part 20. Due to the missing part, it's listed as an incomplete download.

The poster reposts part 20 separately. I need to be able to join the two.
