I keep getting: "Search failed. A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time"
Is it just me or is there something else going on?
Is there a problem with the search service?
Re: Is there a problem with the search service?
I had the same thing happen to me, it didn't work since yesterday evening, this morning it started working again, but I'm not getting the same results. I'm searching for something around the 1000 days old stuff, before this event I got results, now I get "No matches found" for the exact same search.
Will the search be back to normal again?

Re: Is there a problem with the search service?
I restarted search service in backup configuration after one location connectivity failed, the backup retention is 550 days, I'll switch to full retention as soon as the connectivity is restored.
But at the time of the first post in the thread (5 hours ago) the search was already working, I just shortly took it down to create a copy of data on a separate disk.

Re: Is there a problem with the search service?
There was outage here because of bad weather and I didn't have search service monitor running (switched off the desktop computer where the monitor is running to save on batteries).
On a server location (totally different) a breaker tripped 11 hours ago, an older computer restarted, but the newest computer didn't restart automatically, probably wrong bios settings.
I'll try run search service monitor on laptop in case of outages in the future.
