I lost my serial number (it should be on a page way down in a stack of papers somewhere here...) in a drive wipe and until I get it back (sent an email to support) I decided to run on a shareware copy. Hey I did pay and register once already!
Anyhow, I get one of my fave newsgroups (alt.binaries.sounds.mp3.prog) and load headers but none show up with the good stuff -- those multipart data articles!
I checked the source by loading headers into Netscape news and the headers are there, the bodies are there -- not being blocked at the source.
Is there a fix (I'm not a Newspro grog by any means, I just set it up and run!) for this because I'm worried that once I recover my serial number (you guys WILL get me that? I did send my name and full address although my email addy has changed, part of the devastation that lead to the drive wipe.) that I won't be able to d/l my music any more.
This is not any kind of fun!

Can't get the shareware to load binary body headers.
Further checking shows it's a news server problem, all partials.
Now if I can only get that serial number back....
I know that if someone thought there was a pirated copy with my serial number that I'd get notified right quick. So I'm sure there's a database with the info to help me out on this. 2 days and counting.

there was some problem with support@usenetopia.com for 2 days, i even changed the address in the meantime until the provider resolve all its problems. some emails were lost (during the "outage" i sent emails to this address and never saw them coming.
i've just resent the serial, it works.

Entered and good!
Thanks Alex!
Now I only have the crappy news server problem, which is not Newspros' doing!
This reader is the best I've had but then this is the first I paid for, so.....
I'm gonna look around but while I'm typing... is there a place here that lists good servers? I've seen pay-fors which are now 1G/day @ $5-6/mo and I remember when you could get less for less. I'm down to 56k so 1G/day is ridiculously high and the free server limits are too low for music. In any case, I hope there's a server listing (or should I be looking at these list-serv things, which I am ignorant of?) to go with this dynamite reader.

I only use free servers and get everything I need.. try http://freenews.maxbaud.net/ and look at alt.free.newsservers often. I also run NewsPro.. free newserver checker once a week to find new ones..
biggulp.readfreenews.net rocks
also.. can get binaries on some *text only servers* using the newscache0.freenet.de servers
